Juvenile Juvenile law is the area of criminal law that applies to persons who are not old enough to be held responsible for criminal acts. In Ohio, as in most states, the age for criminal culpability is 18 years old for most offenses. Ohio has a code of juvenile justice; the main objective being the rehabilitation, rather than the punishment, of the juvenile offender. Juvenile law also encompasses child custody disputes between unmarried couples, abuse, neglect, dependency actions, and determinations of paternity. The attorneys at Elsass, Wallace, Evans & Co., LPA, have substantial experience navigating clients through all phases of the juvenile justice system.
